John Toulson was able to understand steam from an early age.  After a childhood growing up next to the railway at Sedgefield John has vast knowledge and experience of steam.

Next door to John was a saw mill and in a field close to his house was an old steam engine that he used to play on a child.  That engine stayed in John's memory and after giving up stock car racing after 16 years John decided to return to his first love.

All are in working order and featured at this years Truck Show at Barnard Castle.

John bought his first steam engine at a sale.  It was a Burrell Gold Medal road locomotive.

John now owns 4 steam engines including a Foden steam wagon, a Fowler Showman's engine, a stationery engines and his Burrell.
